DRY SKIN? Cold weather is perfect for a hot choco

DRY SKIN?
Cold weather is perfect for a hot chocolate and cozy sweaters but for the skin ... No so much 😏
.
Oil production diminishes in the cold with the sebaceous glands being less active so that means you have to step up your skincare game to compensate for it.
.
How ❓🤔
▪️ Use products with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, sodium PCA and b5.
.
▪️Switch your moisturizer to a richer texture if needed.
.
▪️Look for products that contain ceramides and lipids to support the skin's protective barrier
.
▪️If you have dry skin, facial oils can help you boost the skin's lipids and keep your skin nice and soft.
One of my faves is jojoba oil because it's very similar to our own sebum (oil). You can use it alone or adding a couple of drops to your favorite moisturizer.
.
▪️Don't over exfoliate. Too much exfoliation removes essential components of the skin's protective barrier and leaves the skin more vulnerable to dryness and irritation.
.
▪️Bring in the good nutrients. Especially omega 3, it helps to moisturize internally and fights inflammation.
.
▪️Drink enough water, internal hydration is key for optimal skin functioning.
.
▪️Sleep well, good sleep quality is crucial for cell repair. Lack of sleep leaves the skin looking dull and dry.
.
▪️ Last but not least, don't skimp in the use of sunscreen, the skin needs protection all the time regardless the weather..
